First time Roughtober participant, Greg Colby, is sleeping rough in memory of his brother Les, who was a much beloved patron of Rough Edges for many years, until he passed away in July this year.
Travelling from my work this week, I was struck by this image. The owner of these items (not in the photograph) was travelling on the same train with me. I observed him sitting away from his goods, which I assumed were all his material possessions. He was sitting on a bench, about 3-4 metres from the trolley.
The Rough Edges team is taking a group of like-minded supporters to Perisher, NSW to conquer three of Australia’s tallest mountains over 18 kilometres, in one day. All while raising funds to help Rough Edges and the Community Assistance and Partnership Program. Be part of our first Inspired Adventure and raise much needed funds for Rough Edges.

One of the best things about Christmas is the way it brings people together, and this has been true for Rough Edges and the other St John’s Community Service (SJCS) programs.
Earlier in December we gathered our volunteers to celebrate their terrific work - work not only throughout the year, but through the past three years of covid-affected circumstances.
